Sitting in SE OK with surface observations at 72/62, dewpoints are slowly rising as well with a dewpoint change of +7 in the past 3 hours. Instability currently at 1,000 kg J over much of SE OK. Shear is there. Newest model data shows storms initiating a little bit later, but that's alright. Still gonna chase either way, cause now I'm down here.(edited)

Good luck to anybody chasing today!

I'm near Checotah right now. I'm not sure what conditions are like ahead of the storm as I'm still in the rain cooled section. But it's not able to root down to the surface. Probably Td below 60 if I had to guess.

good luck... sitting in NE Texas with a route to SE OK if needed. Just waiting

I've been skeptical of the weather models the past few runs.
Drew Terril (OKC, OK)24-Apr-20 05:49 PM
Yeah I just couldn't make myself drive that far. Didn't want to end up getting back super late. I think I'm going to see if I can get under the backside of this thing. Lol I haven't seen a model since before the 20Z update came out

I mean, if nothing forms and I bust, at least I can say that I was at the lake for the past three hours.
More like a pond than a lake. Lol.
If storms do end up forming after night as models suggest, I'll just chase for lightning shots. Not worth chasing in the jungle at night. (just my opinion) so hopefully like usual, the storms will form early.
Can't wait for it to be May and chasing Tornadic cells again in the Texas Panhandle. Lol.

Storms forming in SE OK. Watching it.
Durant sitting at 84/59

Actually it was near Okmulgee. I almost stopped in Henrietta to wait for the storms forming behind to mature. Dammit
Mike Thornton (Norman, OK)24-Apr-20 06:07 PM
I'm sorry to hear that Drew.
Drew Terril (OKC, OK)24-Apr-20 06:08 PM
Another one near Neodesha. So further north than I was expecting
I'm actually in a decent spot for the ones coming from Okmulgee though.

I think we have a wall cloud
It's definitely trying. Had a funnel on a couple of occasions. I'm entirely too far away to tell if there was ground contact
