This is where it wouldn't be a bad day to wake up at my grandma's ranch near Fredericksburg LOL (edited)

@Heather B (Austin, TX) Jack says I’m good to go for tomorrow if anything pans out. Let’s check it in the AM and see if anything makes sense and we can be on it.

@Lisa M. (Pflugerville, TX) Paul got mad at me checking the radar during dinner tonight, but I'm good for tomorrow as well. I'll massage his back or something later and he'll get over it.

I don't care what Chase we're talking about, I would rather take a chase in Southwestern Texas over chasing in the jungle. I have done it many times and chasing in the jungle sucks and is stupid. Lol.

Are you just throwing me off the scent of an amazing chase to keep all the tornadoes for yourself, @Mike Thornton (Norman, OK) ? πŸ˜‚

@Lisa M. (Pflugerville, TX) you're damn right, how'd you know?!?

I’m sticking to Texas tomorrow regardless, I’m still recovering from Friday’s chase. I have no idea how people do this day after day after day.

Lots of energy drinks, and powerades πŸ˜‚

My side gig is home espresso, so I’m always seeking a good latte on the road. Turns out that’s not the specialty of Ft. Stockton πŸ˜‚

Shane Adams (Fort Worth, TX) 25-May-20 10:36 AM
Probably the greatest attribute of the typical cup of coffee you find "out there" while chasing is, it tastes so f*cking bad it keeps you awake.

I used to get late night truck stop coffee plain black just because it tasted so bad. Worked better than energy drinks.

Oh man it’s so true. You get the caffeine with a side of severe hatred for what you’re drinking.

There are some truck stops where you can get ok coffee (certain blends of Pilot/FlyingJ and TA/Petro are ok if made right), but there's a reason I have an intverter and coffee maker on the big rig.

Ed Tierney (Des Plaines, IL) 25-May-20 11:32 AM
Casey's general store coffee though lol
Avatar
Drew Terril (OKC, OK) 25-May-20 11:51 AM
Yeah Casey's is decent. especially their dark blend. Road Ranger in the Midwest (there are a few in Texas now) is decent as well.

Waffle House is "I need to sober up" coffee. Because I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to a waffle house when I'm not drunk
Can't get Timmies in Texas unfortunately lol (edited)

Well the offer officialy stands that if any of you are ever driving through the Austin area and need a tasty pick-me-up, let me know. I LOVE making lattes for other people. And I, like Buc-ees, also have clean restrooms. lol

Casey's Dark Roast/French Roast. πŸ™‚
Depending on the chase day though, I sometimes make my own, and carry a big ass thermos!
Today will be one of those days! Thermos full of Alegro Organic French Roast!
Avatar
Drew Terril (OKC, OK) 26-May-20 05:00 AM
Ick. I can't do Pilot House Blend. They make that stuff super weak. Casey's Dark roast is solid though. I try to keep Timmies Dark Roast in stock in the semi, but I'm down to 3 bags (which is running low by my standards). Which means I need another Chillicothe, OH run where there's one across the street from where I deliver.
