It's looking like groundhog day. Frontal alignment similar to today just a hair east. Better moisture? Cams are all over
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)27-Apr-21 11:26 PM
No idea
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)27-Apr-21 11:36 PM
Cams want a whole bunch of supercells coming off of the Mexico mountains and headed to the Austin/San Antonio Metro.
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)28-Apr-21 12:09 AM
Mexican Hailers.
Mkae that Upslope Mexican Hailers
Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE)28-Apr-21 12:12 AM
Less SRH early, but cap will break fast. This is just SE of WFalls
The dryline will be the best focus for vorticity and SRH. Gotta hug it and hope cin holds long enough (edited)
S. F (Montreal, QC)🇨🇦28-Apr-21 12:39 AM
Area around Del Rio looking pretty interesting on the RAP and NAM3Km

My main concern would be overcrowding due to multiple storms, but that's a pretty monsterous environment
Jacob Metzger (Fort Worth, TX)28-Apr-21 09:24 AM
I may leave work early to chase today, but the hail threat is concerning in my back yard
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)28-Apr-21 10:44 AM
The backroads that don't have gravel should be avoided.
2
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 10:51 AM
Yeah, there’s going to be a lot of mud and flooding in locations that chasers will go to today.
John Choquette (Edmond, OK)28-Apr-21 11:36 AM
Even gravel in some of the wetter spots is not advised
Yesterday was a bit of a struggle
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)28-Apr-21 11:40 AM
oh man it's bad then.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 11:58 AM
I am in field comms again.
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)28-Apr-21 11:58 AM
kk
Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE)28-Apr-21 12:21 PM
I know the road network for the north target is decent normally but they had a lot of rain. The south target seems a bit rough to chase today
Nothing like embedded tor warns in a giant mcs at 11am to start the day
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 12:45 PM
Yeah, today’s gonna be a mess either way.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 01:12 PM
Headed down to Abilene.
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 01:15 PM
Outflow boundaries are gonna be fun today.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 01:15 PM
Yeah.
Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE)28-Apr-21 01:30 PM
oof. the meso analysis is a mess. best convergence is near san angelo. that probably would be my best target today. good cape already. further N there is strong divergence at the surface up near W Falls. you'll have to go south and east today a bit. Area SE of DFW might be interesting.
1
the area behidn the current MCS is still under 340K theta-e air. sowe could see a rebound later tonight even, but it might get cut off by the san angelo actrion
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 01:48 PM
We are headed down to the Abilene to San Angelo corridor right now @Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE). Definitely should be interesting.
Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE)28-Apr-21 01:51 PM
triple point between the dry line and an outflow setting up just NW of san angelo. storms already firing on the outflow that heads northeast for about 50-75 miles.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 01:51 PM
Okay, thank you.
So it looks like we are setting up in a good spot.
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 02:15 PM
Tornado watch coming.
JoshuaClark28-Apr-21 11:03 PM
Quite the stone thrower that passed through Norman tonight. We have golf ball sized hail.
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 11:27 PM
Got tennis ball when I was driving.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 11:28 PM
Drove past a few car dealerships on I-35 about 5 minutes ago in Norman. Windshields smashed EVERYWHERE.
Matthew Gaylor (OKC, OK)28-Apr-21 11:32 PM
Yeah, all those dealerships absolutely got destroyed, especially the west facing cars
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)28-Apr-21 11:35 PM
Yeah.
Lee S (Wichita, KS)28-Apr-21 11:48 PM
Now to figure out which ones took no water to the interior and work a deal for a cheap car.

Josh Zitko(St Louis, MO)28-Apr-21 11:52 PM
Honestly lol, I want to look for a hail damaged truck
It's gonna get messed up anyway
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)29-Apr-21 12:17 AM
Yeah good deal. Then you can show off to other chasers. Look at my dents!
Jacob Metzger (Fort Worth, TX)29-Apr-21 12:17 AM
I 100% want to go truck shopping up there. Gimme ten grand off of it and I’ll fix it myself

Peter Potvin (Pembroke, ON) ✱29-Apr-21 12:42 AM
So, I wonder how busy @John Choquette (Edmond, OK) is gonna be over the next couple of days from all the hail tonight... (edited)
Drew Terril (Yukon, OK)29-Apr-21 12:50 AM
I know a couple of his other co-workers fairly well also, so I suspect they'll be busy
B. Dean Berry (Pittsburgh PA) ✱29-Apr-21 12:55 AM
Hail cars don't sell locally cheap. They're "totalled".
Follow process.
Car lot -> Insurance back lot for a year with all the windows broken, getting rained in -> CoPart auction -> Rich guys from Dubai who need parts cars bid them up to $60K.
Royce Sheibal (Papillion,NE)29-Apr-21 01:04 AM
the largest outdoor car lot in the US was located in Blair, NE about 20 mi north of Omaha. it was hit by a storm with 4" hail in 2014. something like 20000 cars totalled. they got auction'ed all over the country afterword. dealership did fine. big difference from 2001, when a similar storm hit mid-omaha and took out a dozen dealerships and they had to sell everything off cheap
John Choquette (Edmond, OK)29-Apr-21 01:17 AM
The answer is very busy @Peter Potvin (Pembroke, ON) ✱ lol
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)29-Apr-21 01:23 AM
Can we please do a case study of the last two days, but especially tonight sometime within the next few days?
Lee S (Wichita, KS)29-Apr-21 03:42 AM
Must’ve changed over the last 10 years.
B. Dean Berry (Pittsburgh PA) ✱29-Apr-21 04:14 AM
Yeah, the issue with foreign buyers on CoPart has gotten fairly bad.
John Choquette (Edmond, OK)29-Apr-21 08:11 AM
Our team will likely be doing a case study at least on the Norman storm in the coming days especially since that one took us by surprise
beard (fort worth)29-Apr-21 09:34 AM
Whats surprising, the set up Wednesday was better than Tuesday. Yet I haven't seen any tors on the ground from Wednesday (except west of San Antonio) and there where numerous ones on Tuesday.
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)29-Apr-21 12:02 PM
Sure you can lead it! Friday night sound good?
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)29-Apr-21 12:03 PM
No, I work nights on the weekends. It would have to be during the week, like on Monday or Tuesday night.
Sorry.
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)29-Apr-21 12:03 PM
Then Monday.
Glad to see ya back home Cody... I think you're home? (edited)
Get a hold of me, when you're going to do this. I'll make announcement in here for you and post it. If you want to do this?
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)29-Apr-21 12:13 PM
Yeah, I am home @Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC). Got home at about 5:15 am central. Got a couple hours of sleep and now back to work.
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)29-Apr-21 12:14 PM
Good to hear again. Sorry for if feel like crap. But in the end it was so worth it! (edited)
John Choquette (Edmond, OK)29-Apr-21 12:15 PM
Yeah I’ll try to give you a heads up on when. Might be a little bit today has been chaos here as you may imagine
Glen Heinz (Greenville, SC)29-Apr-21 12:17 PM
yep sorry to bother.
Cody D. (Lincoln, NE - UNL)29-Apr-21 12:19 PM
Oh I feel great right now. One of my hometowns was just spared from a potential disaster last night, so I’m in a great mood and wide awake. Besides, my first chase was just about as successful as I could have imagined.
